Following the trend of pure tastes, less ingredients in the products and reflecting changing attitudes towards health, community and the environment; we present the "Frozen Hearts of Palm" " Palmito Congelado Premium". First quality palms now frozen. The bags of 1 lb - 5 lb full of whole heart of palms, have been requested by consumers from gourmet cuisine all across the world, catering services and food service distributors. Is not a surprise to have fresh heart of palm when visiting the tropical lands of Costa Rica, but it is fantastic to have the same fresh flavor of the palm coming from the freezer.  The instructions as with any frozen vegetable is to cook it for 10 min and then use it as desired. Cassava -or "yuca" in spanish-, is indispensable part of carbohydrate diet for millions of indigenous people and inhabitants living in many parts of South American, Africa and Asian continents.  Is an integral part of the daily diet for millions of people from the Caribbean region, becoming the main ingredient in typical dishes from Latin America and crossing over to the US markets. It is also consumed as snack or as fries, stew-fries, soups and savory dishes all over the tropic regions of the world. But, what is it? It's a root from  a perennial plant that grows best under tropical, moist, fertile, and well-drained soils of Costa Rica. We call it "sweet casssava" because is not bitter like other cassavas produced in different parts of the world.  The reason behind of the sweet cassava from Costa Rica, is its soils, its weather and its latitude. The founder of Montaña Azul Victor Arias Jiménez shares with us his thoughts about this important addition to the success story of more than 15 years exporting canned food and coffee: "we are very glad of launching our Frozen Line of products, since it is a new engine of economic growth for our beloved region of Horquetas de Sarapiquí in the Province of Heredia.   Palmitotastes   Montaña Azul welcomes the 2016 with a stronger Family Company. Not only in 2015 we managed to expand our facilities with a new WareHouse and a New Plant but also the team became able to enter into new Retail segments such as PriceSmart and Megasuper local supermarkets with attractive offers to the consumers consolidating the Family of Montaña Azul under the slogan "time to share in family". In 2015 wew recipes were born : "PalmHeart Ceviche"  and "Jalapeño Palms" bringing a Latin kick for new product hunters.  Expected to hit the markets in 2016, our PalmHeart Ceviche and Palm Jalapeño are a vegetable variation of our local CostaRican dishes. Dedicated to those Distributors who want to provide new ideas, new products and new alternatives for a more demanding market.  We innovate for you!. Our tropical fruits got spread this year into Supermarket stores across Europe becoming the icon of a new era for fruit in jars, as we say in spanish "el secreto está en el cariño" (the secret is the love). The Judges of the SIAL Paris Innovation 2014 have said " très, très bon! " We just received one of those emails  that change your year : "Congratulations, following the CGM Committee, your product has been selected by the Jury, made up of independent experts.We congratulate you on the dynamism and creativity of your company" confirmed Marine Duchene, Communications Officer from the SIAL´s organizer team. It could not be different. Our Cassava in can, ready to eat and with our secret latinamerican-caribbean spices, was evaluated and made it to the top of the Innovation Selection 2014.  We are still running up for the Grands Prix SIAL Paris Innovation 2014, but we consider ourselves already a winning team: we are taking our flavors to 150 000 visitors of the biggest food show on the planet!. This Selection is specially important this year since Sial Paris Food Show has its 50th edition.  Our product will be presented in the SIAL Paris Innovation 2014 Book and in the Innovation 2014 As Pahola Arias comments "Just imagine that you could make a product that puts a childhood flavor on a can and combines your family ultra-secret recipe on a classic dish from your culture... is it possible?. Cafe Daloö travels to NYC !

daloo The big apple welcomes a new inhabitant ! Daloö Coffee will take the its first steps in United States at different stores in Queens, Manhattan, and NewJersey. This is part of a focus research that will validate the Boutique Coffee, produced by Agromercadeo El Diamante, a sister company of Montana Azul, responsible of the coffee Division. The stores of Amish Market, Best Yet Market, Cucina Liberta, Garden of Eden, Gristedes, MortonWilliams, WestSide Market and Zeytuna, will offer to few of its customers to buy from their shelves our 250 g Daloo Coffee for a limited time. We will be having a result of this first study and our boutique coffee might be making it big in the city that never sleeps. Daloö Coffee is a product dedicated for those coffee lovers that value an extra note of aroma in their coffee without loosing the intense flavor of an excellent roasted bean.
