Daloö expanded into Asia this year and consolidated the biggest 7 supermarket chains in Costa Rica. We expect to be arriving to new countries and channels after this show.

Arriba Jalapeño! as requested by many so far, finally the beautiful white palm heart show to us its wild side, by becoming spicy.  Jalapeño halves will match the delicate flavour of the palmito, in order to give the kick you waited for.

Tropical novelty, the jars opened this year a new star: the vertical papaya pineapple twins will be arriving to the french retail stores for this summer. The slick look of this product makes it hip, young and modern. In addition to that, the flavour and texture of the papaya is full of the Costa Rican pineapple richness. Is a combination you cannot miss. You come and try it.

As Víctor Sr says “we will be representing the greatness of Costa Rica, the best we can through hard work as always: This year we even got certified FSSC 22000 some weeks ago… after more than fifteen years exporting cans, our company is ready to enter in new product lines such as frozen and fresh foods too, so this message we also take to New York Fancy Food. Our clients and partners expect big things from us and we are up to the challenge”.

FSCC22000

Agroindustrial Montaña Azul certifies FSSC 22000: A Food Safety Management System (FSMS) Certification Scheme

FSSC 22000 defines requirements for integrated processes that work together to control and minimize food safety hazards. Once a facility implements processes that address all the requirements of FSSC 22000, they can be certified to FSSC 22000.

The certification program is managed by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification: www.fssc22000.com. The FSSC System was designed to provide companies in the food industry with an ISO based FSMS certification that is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Pahola Arias, leader for the project of certification explains: ” FSSC 22000 certification shows our clients that our commitment is not words but actions. It also allows our company to achieve our first certification from the GFSI norms. Therefore, any client looking for BRC, IFS can accept our new certification as iqual since it covers the same requirements”.

Felicitaciones!. Congratulations!

As the Costa Rica President  handed the Award for the Effort of Exporters, the representatives of the family Montaña Azul walked to the stage to receive it. “Category of Innovation, this award goes to … Montaña Azul”.  This award is granted to companies that made an upstanding work in their field of bringing Costa Rican services or goods to the international markets.

This year our President, Victor Arias Jimenez, received the Award and shared some words with the audience “we are a family company, which means for us is difficult to innovate. It takes creativity and hard work”. Also invited all the other companies to continue creating and pushing hard for Costa Rica, a country that deserves all our effort. “Costa Rica es un país maravilloso” as he always says.

The Award was granted to Montaña Azul after a careful evaluation from the Jury of 5 different Institutions: Promoter of Foreign Trade, Minister of Health, Ministery of Science and Technology, Ministery of Economy and Trade, and the Chamber of Exporters.

A great end of the year for  don Víctor, a visionary man who also got the 2014 Award for Agriculture (granted by the Chambers of Agriculture) and the Selection 2014 by Sial to 2 of the companies’ products: cassava with spices and Daloö Coffee.

No doubt, this success is “made in Costa Rica”, by a family with global standards.

Agriculture Chamber of Costa Rica grants Victor Arias Jiménez the Award “Mérito Agrícola” 2014

November 26th, 2014

meritoagricolaThe annual award is given a by the Chamber of Agriculture and other 60 different Chambers from the Agriculture sector of Costa Rica.

A lifetime dedicated to the fields, the vision to diversify in different cultivation alternatives and the creation of vertical operations in the AgroBusiness: from the seed to the export; were some of the reasons that the Costa Rican Agriculture Chamber took into consideration to grant this 2014 Award “Mérito Agrícola” to our President of Montaña Azul, Víctor Arias Jiménez.

In the activity which took place at the Holiday Inn facilities in  San José downtown , Mr Ricardo Seevers from the Coffee Chamber introduced the 2014 Award to ‘don Víctor and his wife doña Marielos’ ” such a good thing to be able to speak good things about him…the most beautiful thing we saw in his company and in this family, is that they have been producing an added value: that exact added value that everybody is looking for;  in their coffee with aromas, in their canned cassava …”

During his words don Víctor told to the audience an overview of his own history  in the AgroBusiness, the cyclical nature of the crisis througout his agriculture entrepreneurships and how each of those crisis made him wiser and stronger. Also pointed out the challenges for the new generations: the climate change, the competitiveness and legislations and our human complexity that sometimes put obstacles in front of the business and our society.

” We have to carry on the ‘carreta’ (oxcart) of the AgroBusiness. Not only for us but for Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a wonderful country”. He concluded.

For those who speak spanish, listen to this, memorable and a lifetime speach, from an unique leader, today recognized with this award, but to whom we express our admiration in a daily basis. Click here to listen

Felicidades don Víctor. Bien merecido!.

November 17th, 2014

Montana Azul made it to the finalists’ short list on the contest for the Award “Effort for Export”2014.

The week of November 13 had the highlight of the year for the Production team and the Management team.  The Costa Rican Chamber of Exporters organizes every year the Award to the “Effort for Exports” among the Small and Medium companies. This award is granted to the company that best ranks in the evaluation categories at the annual contest sponsored by the Government of Costa Rica.

Under the coordination of the Chamber of Exporters, other important Institutions are represented as evaluators, depending on the subject: The Health Ministry for food safety issues or environment impact, the Science and Technology Ministry evaluating innovative processes and products, the Costa Rican Trade Promotion Institute evaluating the commercial and competitiveness and the Ministry of Economy reviewing operations and size of the company.

Pamela Arias received the evaluating team with humbleness and appreciation “…few times in the life of a Family Company like ours, we have the opportunity to thank those governmental institutions that support our operations. This is one of those times. We participate as part of the contest, but already being among the finalists, is a great honor”.

The 5 of December 2014 the awarded company will be announced during the Chamber of Exporters CADEXCO event.

Good luck to the Montana Azul team!.
